Facepalm - You're doing it wrong.
I’ve been using this space for about a year. It is now painfully obvious that I have no idea what I’m doing. I don’t really have much to say. I used to do web design but that was back in the 90s doing HTML and static pages. I don’t have a clue about CSS, PHP, Java Script and etc.
I upgraded from Wordpress 2.7 to 2.8 and it completely wrecked the administrative dashboard. Formatting was completely fouled up in Firefox and while the formatting worked better in Opera, I could not edit posts. There were several forum posts on Wordpress from people having the same issues but none had a concise solution that worked across the board. Most were able to clear the cache in their browser and reinstall 2.8 to fix the issue. This didn’t work for me but I was finally able to find a fix here.
In the process of trying to get this to work, I deleted my entire site and database in order to reinstall from scratch. I made a full backup last weekend so I didn’t think it would be a problem. I later realized that my themes and plugins were backed up but my databases had not been. So my older posts and comments no longer exist. I’m ok with this because it gives me a chance for a fresh start.
Next my issue is my RSS feeds. My RSS has never worked properly but I figured it couldn’t be that complicated. Wrong! I spent my entire Saturday researching and looking through code without coming up with a solution. My XML is jacked up because of a blank line is generated at the beginning of the file. So, I combed through the majority of my code looking for blank lines outside of PHP tages. Unfortunately, I still can’t get my feed to validate.
